This is a formula that brings together several herbs that have long been used for respiratory health. Osha root is part of the carrot and parsley family, and its therapeutic benefits come to us from traditional Native American and Hispanic medicine. The use of Thyme as an antimicrobial goes as far back as ancient Egypt when it was used in embalming mixtures. The ancient Greeks would put it in their baths as well as burn it for incense. Both Ginger and Yerba Santa have traditionally been used as expectorants to help relieve bronchitis, coughs and colds.
Our liquid herbs are crafted through a careful process to create the most bioavailable herbs. First, whole herbs, not powders, are soaked in organic cane alcohol for weeks to draw out active compounds. And then we go gently—without chemicals or high temperatures— to concentrate the herbal extract further. Every step of the process is tested for both purity and potency from harvest to bottling.
