What Are Excipients and Why Are They Commonly Used in Nutraceutical Capsules?
Excipients are non-medicinal ingredients added to a formulation to support the manufacturing process, improve stability, enhance appearance, or optimize delivery of the active ingredient. While they generally do not provide a direct therapeutic effect, they play an important role in ensuring the product is safe, effective, and consistent.
Common functions of excipients include:
- Fillers or diluents: Add bulk to formulations when the active ingredient is present in very small amounts.
- Solvents or dissolution agents: Help dissolve or distribute ingredients during manufacturing.
- Stabilizers: Improve the physical and chemical stability of the product, helping to maintain potency and shelf life.
- Dispersing agents: Ensure even distribution of small quantities of active ingredients throughout the formulation.
- Colouring agents: Improve product appearance and aid in identification.
- Flavouring agents: Enhance palatability, particularly in chewable or liquid products.

While excipients are generally safe and commonly used in nutraceutical products, some individuals may have sensitivities, intolerances, or prefer to avoid certain non-medicinal ingredients. By minimizing both the number and quantity of excipients used, we can create cleaner-label formulations while maintaining product quality, stability, and efficacy.

Next, visit our website and enter the product name in the search box. If you happen to know the product SKU, you can use that for quicker results.

Once you are on the product page, you will notice a greyed-out icon that indicates the product is "out of stock." Just below this button, there will be another button labeled "Notify me when available" (refer to the screenshot below)

Click on the "Notify me when available" button, and a pop-up window will appear, prompting you to enter your email address where you would like to receive the notification.

Enter your email address and click on the "Notify me when available" button (as shown in the image below).

Congratulations! You have successfully signed up for the product notification. Now you can sit back and relax while we send you a notification as soon as the product is back in stock.
