FLU - DOs and DONTs

Flu season is upon us, and while you will ideally evade any nasty bugs this fall and winter, here are the top things you should and should not do if you start experiencing tell-tale symptoms like fatigue, fever, body aches and/or a sore throat.


  • Drink plenty of water, herbal tea low-sugar electrolyte beverages
  • Stay home and rest
  • Eat nutrient-rich foods - especially fruits and veggies
  • Help prevent spread to loved ones by washing your hands frequently and covering your mouth with your arm or tissue when you sneeze


  • Go to school, or other crowded public spaces 
  • Drink alcohol or caffeinated beverages
  • Push yourself to do things you are not feeling up to 
  • Hug people or shake hands
  • Eat foods that are processed or high in sugar
